Nearly all of the activities around models is their relationship to data and the empirical world. Much less activity focuses on relationships among models and larger theoretical frameworks. In this talk, I will present one way to organize our theory thinking, and the interaction between models and broader theories. The goal is to give you the tools to place your work in these frameworks, the skills to build those frameworks yourself, and concepts that can help guide your modeling efforts.
